About Fi
I am a doctor with experience in expedition medicine, with a particular interest in working - both on and off-screen- on media productions in remote locations. My thirst for adventure and the outdoors is what drew me away from a career in conventional medicine. Since March 2007 I have worked on six productions for UK and US television including Beyond Boundaries III “Across the Andes” (Diverse Television for BB2) and Bear Grylls Mission Everest. Over the past 3 years I have been lucky enough to experience some of the most beautiful locations in the world including Nepal, Borneo, Northern Pakistan and Ecuador. In March 2009 I accompanied a group of intrepid celebrities to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for Comic Relief.
In 2006 I summited my first 8000 metre peak (Mount Cho Oyu form the Tibetan side). Plans to return to Cho Oyu in 2008 with two other girls to become the first British females to ski from 8000m had to be put on ice due to the political situation in Tibet at the time.
In March 2010 I will be heading back out to the Himalaya to attempt to climb to the summit of Everest. In doing so I will be raising money for the Kenyan Orphan Project.
I am currently making last-minute preparations for Everest. Feel free to check out my blog.
