What is worse? A or E

February 26th, 2010 . by admin

Well I have to confess the reality that I’ll be leaving for Everest in just under a month is beginning to sink in. And a feeling of rising panic to go with it. I read a Twitter from Rob Casserley this morning from his little rowing boat in the middle of the Atlantic….

“OCEAN2SUMMIT: Well Everest mates, what’s harder?E[verest] or A[tlantic]?! Dang[er] value-E wins hnds dwn (2 dte!)Physically for me A way harder. Big phys[ical] strain every 2 hrs on A…no rest days etc.
Psycholog[ically]-tie. E hard when people die, summit ridge etc with exposure. A-monotony,only 1 person to share it with (!) no phys comforts+crap fd. All in all a tie….
But,if ur a mountaineer,enjoy Pasang Temba’s cooking at C2+enjoy odd rest day,Atlantic rowing’s not for u!”

850 nautical miles to go Rob and Stu……please tell me A is worse than E!!!
